To say that the world is a tough place for men is about the most fair and true statement that could be written today. We struggle as a sex with so many things like, addictions, lust, pornography, leadership of our families and just being husbands and fathers.
The people in our lives and the media affect us more than any other influence. Why does media affect the human mind so greatly? Every 6.8 seconds there is something sexual thrown at us from one of many sources. Television, radio and the internet are just three examples of influential media in our lives today. We can no longer watch or listen to any source of media without seeing or hearing descriptions of people having sex or affairs.
We are the first generation that has a very large percentage of men that grew up without a father or no positive male influence. In order to grow into the good husbands and fathers we were made to be it is crucial to have a positive influential model who currently demonstrates good character. With a lack of fathers modeling the character for their sons to be men of honor and responsibility, society is at a serious loss. Where do we turn? There is a large amount of men that had fathers in their life who physically abused them or were addicted to drugs or alcohol. Perhaps they didn't love them or support them or spend time with them the way they should have. Where do they turn for an example?
Even men who aren't husbands and fathers still have a role to fulfill, people to watch over, love to be given. We might struggle with feeling alone and incomplete. The greatest struggle is probably with our wants and desires and at times lust. We wonder if masturbation is wrong, if it's a sin and how to deal with it.
Ultimately, there is a majority of men who are unaware of how to be the man they are created to be; sometimes even when we have an understanding it is possible to struggle with influences from the past or addictions. There is a solution. In order to step forward and be set free of our addictions, break the chains of our suffering, raise a healthy family and to make the right decisions for our own future…we need a role model. We need hope. God is absolutely the only one that can do those things for you in your life. Jesus is the role model, the freedom, the release and the hope and promise. He works in your life, saved or not, he knows you inside and out, saved or not. He speaks to you through his word, through people and through his Spirit.

The standards set by our society for women both physically and mentally are strictly unattainable. Society dictates that your body has to look a certain way, your hair and makeup have to conform to a certain standard, and you have to be perfect in order to be beautiful. Society dictates that you have to balance a husband, family, and full time career in order to achieve contentment. There are many women that have to work or raise a family alone because your husband or the father of your children isn't there. Many women are currently in or were previously faced with physically abusive, sexually abusive or emotionally abusive relationships. It's really easy with the above listed circumstances to feel hopeless, sub-standard, violated, insecure, depressed and alone. You may be in a relationship that's abusive and you stay involved because you think you deserve it or it's become normal for you. You may be trying to work and be the perfect wife and mother and homemaker. You may be single and desperately searching for Mr. Right in every man that you see because you feel alone and empty. You might be struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, a feeling of being disconnected from your family and friends, or sexual addiction. There is hope.
The affects of every kind of abuse are devastating to women and in their lives. Some women start to believe the lie that it was somehow their fault and they are the cause of their own suffering. Some believe the lie that if they don't conform to an image of perfection they aren't beautiful or accepted. Some believe that they have to be the perfect mom, wife and friend. These are lies. Some believe they aren't worthy of any kind of normal life or relationship. These are lies. Some women believe if they don't find a man they won't be complete, this is a lie.
This world, Satan, and certain types of men have been doing things that have hurt women and left them emotionally scared for life, if left untreated. The absolute truth is no matter who you are, what you look like, where you have been, what you have done or what has been done to you, you have hope and are worthy and are loved and aren't alone! Your Creator has plans to prosper you, end your suffering and set you free. He has known you, seen you and wants to help you.
None of this is simple but there is hope. I am here to let God speak through me and to let Him guide and restore you through His word and Spirit. You can click on the Get Counseling Link and enter your information and we'll talk soon.
The youth of today face challenges that haven't ever been faced before by any generation. This fact combined with the problems and situations of past generations, your lives aren't always going to be easy, period.

The struggles that you face in your families like divorce, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, parents with drug and alcohol problems, blended families and rivalries with your brothers and sisters all lead to problems in your life. The struggles that you face at school like academics, fitting in, problems with friends, your teachers and grades, sports and the opinions of others all add up.
You are entering into your first serious relationships. Complications will occur that will probably make you feel like your life is over and you can't go on alone. Sex will become or already has become a huge topic on your minds. Statistics say that 49% of all high school age kids have had sex and 22% do on an ongoing basis. There are serious complications that result from that alone.
You may have had a death in the family or in a close relationship. You may be left with questions about whether or not Heaven and Hell really exist and if you will ever see your loved one again. You are not alone and there is hope.
The positive influences that used to exist in this world, that shaped and supported and helped you through the tough times are disappearing at an alarming rate. You are known as the Media Generation and for a good reason. Recent studies have shown that you watch or listen to 6.8 hours of Media per day. Media is the radio, the internet and television. With sites like Myspace and MTV being the number 1 watched station by teens, media has become the greatest influence on your behavior today. You as the youth are missing parents in your lives or they're struggling with their own problems, which puts you in second place. You struggle in school with pressure and expectations that are way too hard. Your friends and the people you are in relationships with are letting you down or hurting you for really no apparent reason. The amount of responsibility you have can be overwhelming and to much to handle at times. There is hope.
I know teenagers who have committed suicide. Some who are cutters and use drugs, that are having sex in their relationships and who are just lost and hopeless. They have been hurt by people that they loved or were supposed to love them. Someone isn't there for them to let them know that they are loved and worth more than anything else in the world. There is hope.
The number one thing you need to know is there is a God and He loves you unconditionally. He sees your struggles, your problems, and your hurt. God doesn't let you down, put you in second place or ignore you. He wants to have a personal relationship with you and help you in your suffering. The one who created you and the universe literally can't wait for you to get to know him and receive his help. I would love to help you learn more about the hope and light of the world.
My heart goes out to you, I spend a lot of time counseling youth and it hurts me to see and hear about what you go through but a better tomorrow isn't that hard to find.
